MILITARY-GRADE TRAINING... NOW AVAILABLE FOR CIVILIANS
An incredibly intense technology training course with an emphasis on small class size, extremely personal attention, and amazingly real-world experiences designed to make you a better, faster, and more valuable Windows administrator in just three information-packed days, led by the industry's most experienced and recognized experts. Field rations included.
- WARNING: This Class May Not Be For You
- This training is intended for serious, intense technology professionals seeking to learn powerful new technologies in a minimum amount of time.
- Don't like to work hard? This isn't the class for you: Seek lesser training from a local provider.
- Permanently co-dependent on Outlook or your Blackberry? Move on: There are no time for distractions, here.
- Used to turning a 15 minute break into 20 or 30 minutes? Look elsewhere: Our tight agenda delivers the maximum training and experience humanly possible.
EIGHT REASONS WHY THIS ISN'T LIKE ANY CLASS YOU'VE EVER TAKEN
SPECIAL FORCES training isn't your normal class. In fact, everything about it is different from the run-of-the-mill vendor-provided training you're used to. Prepare yourself for the most amazing, innovative training experience available.

- Intense Training
A full nine hours of training each day, plus Continental breakfast, working lunch, coffee service, and snacks to keep you going. You'll learn more each day than most classes deliver in three, and you'll practice each and every thing in real-world tasks like those you'd see in an actual production environment. Convenient three-day schedule lets you get in some time in the office, so that you don't fall behind.
- Not Your Usual Classroom
No projectors. No silly little individual labs. No staring at a guy who lectures for hours. You'll work in small teams to solve real-world tasks, while your drill instructor's demonstrations are broadcast directly to your screen for a more personal, enriching experience. Your D.I. doesn't just lecture, he moves throughout the class constantly, offering tips and advice and making sure you're nailing the hands-on tasks you're assigned. And with more than half your time spent on practical labs, you'll have your hands full. Did your last class keep you this busy?
- What Comes After "Expert" Level?
Your Windows PowerShell drill instructor is Jeffery Hicks, author of several technology books, recipient of the Microsoft MVP Award for Windows PowerShell, magazine columnist, top speaker at conferences like TechMentor and Windows Connections, and one of the most experienced Windows PowerShell instructors on the planet. Your last trainer had, what, an MCT credential or something?
- No Experience Needed / Massive Experience Delivered
If you can administer Windows, you'll love our classes. We assume no prior PowerShell experience, and teach you absolutely everything you need to know. We promise. It doesn't matter what you plan to use Windows PowerShell for - Windows, Exchange, System Center, VMWare, Citrix, WebSphere, and more - this is the class that prepares you to tackle the entire PowerShell universe. In fact, sometimes the less prior experience you have, the better - we won't have to "un-teach" any bad habits!
- Double-Time, Troops!
Your drill instructor (D.I.) will set a fast pace, delivering information that applies directly to your real-world work experience. You'll move quickly through conceptual material and directly into stuff you can actually use, complete with real examples. Each day your D.I. provide three times the information and experience that you'd find in a mere "civilian-grade" class.
- It's More Than a Little Personal
With classes strictly limited to no more than 15 students, you're assured of incredibly personal attention. Have questions? We have answers. Mess up the lab? Good - that's how you learn, and your D.I. is instantly there to help (no pushups required). Want best practices? Tips? Techniques? Secrets? Gotchas? Good, because we have all that, and we're ready to share.
- Comfort Zone
We don't subject you to cranky "classroom machines." Instead, you bring your own laptop (which must meet minimum system requirements - click here to review) and complete labs inside "sandbox" virtual machines, letting you work on a computer you're comfortable with while protecting its configuration and stability. This ensures that your labs and their results can go home with you, too, for later review and even production use.
- Packed With Take-Aways
We don't like "classroom manuals" that are short on content and long on pictures of PowerPoint slides. We provide you with the actual PowerPoint slides, a complete copy of Windows PowerShell: TFM, 2nd Edition (the most comprehensive Windows PowerShell book out there), as well as hours of supplemental self-paced training materials to help you with after-class refresh & review.

If you're running Windows Vista, we recommend 1.5GB or more of memory. You must have local Administrator privileges on the computer, and you must be able to install and run new applications. We cannot provide in-class technical support for your laptop. Note that our classes do not include in-room Internet connectivity and we do not permit the use of any wireless networks which happen to be available, nor do we permit the use of cell modems during class.
- Prohibited Items and Activities
- SPECIAL FORCES training is fast-paced and intense. To keep things on schedule, and to comply with local laws, the following are prohibited in the classroom:
- The use of cellular devices, including phones, cell modems, and Blackberries
You will be asked to turn these devices OFF or to SILENT MODE and to keep them put away while class is in session.
- Smoking
- E-mail software, Web browsers, or other distractions
These items may be used during designated breaks. However, keep in mind that lunches are working lunches, and these items remain prohibited during that time.
